Website redesign for software development company
This project was unique for two main reasons: it required working in Finnish, and it was my first team collaboration.
Seizing a New Opportunity
In the midst of learning the Finnish language, I sought opportunities to apply my growing coding skills. The language courses provided a practical dimension, enabling me to identify a Finnish company in need of website improvement or development, with Finnish as the primary working language. Fortunately, I seized this opportunity and was granted eight weeks to enhance both my language proficiency and coding skills.
Collaborating with UX/UI Designer
Luck continued to favor me as I embarked on the task of creating a website based on an existing design. At this juncture, I realized that a coder's role extends beyond technical expertise; effective communication skills are equally vital. I am grateful for the understanding and patience exhibited by my new colleagues. Through thoughtful discussions, we addressed questionable points and arrived at solutions that satisfied all stakeholders—client, designer, and developer alike. It reinforced my preference for and appreciation of teamwork over independent work.
This project served as a playground for refining my technical skills, with a focus on:
- Gatsby Framework: Offering a comprehensive full-stack solution.
- Netlify: Utilized for content storage, deployment, and project management, proving to be an invaluable asset. The simplicity of the CMS panel empowered the client to manage website content independently.
